The National Press Club Installs FOR-A’s HVS-4000 Switcher as Part of HD Upgrade

Cypress, CA – The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. has been an institution for more than a century. In addition to being a private club for journalists and communications professionals, the organization also serves as a National Press Club HVS-4000 switcher in control room JPEG (2)full-spectrum production house. The club offers video production solutions, and studio and editing facilities to a versatile group of clients that includes everything from public relations and corporate agencies to local PBS stations. When the organization decided to transition one of its two studios to HD, they sought to find a cost-effective production switcher that offered the capabilities they needed, such as multiple M/Es and a number of digital effects and chroma keyer options. The club, whose other studio is equipped with a FOR-A HVS-350HS video switcher, chose FOR-A’s HVS-4000 3 M/E video switcher for its new control room.

“We chose the HVS-4000 because it has all of the bells and whistles without costing a fortune,” said Ryan Dillenbeck, Director of New Technologies, The National Press Club. “We’ve been using a FOR-A HVS-350HS switcher in our other production studio, and have taken it on the road with us for use in flypacks and remote productions. Since we’ve been happy with the performance of the HVS-350HS, upgrading our facility with a larger FOR-A switcher just seemed like a natural progression for us.”

The National Press Club provides a variety of video services to its clients, including Webcasting, satellite media tours, public broadcasting reports, National Press-Club-5 HVS-4000 switcher in control room JPGinterviews and corporate messaging productions. FOR-A’s HVS-4000 video switcher offers a wide range of features to handle these types of complex video productions, including 3 Gbps support, 2.5D and 3D DVE, up/down converter, external device control, macro function and video file support. The organization has been using the HVS-4000 switcher since the beginning of June, and also recently installed a FOR-A MV-3200 high-resolution multi viewer in its new studio.

Jay Shinn, Northeast Account Manager, FOR-A, said, “The National Press Club is a unique organization that provides a lot of high-end video services. We’re happy that they’re now all FOR-A in terms of production switcher capability, and we look forward to continuing to provide the club with our affordable, reliable technologies.”
